First's...

I know there will be MANY firsts as we experience this pregnancy, i.e. morning sickness, growing way out of my clothes, Braden tying my shoes, finding out the sex of the baby and so on. Saturday was another first for us (sorry, this is another update) as we had our first prenatal visit with our midwife Cathy. She is so wonderful and we are excited to have found her and happy that she will be the one to deliver our baby! She came to our house Saturday morning and after we asked a million questions or more, she did my check up. Conclusion, mom and baby look and sound healthy. She said I am growing right on target and the baby sounds great! The most exciting part was for Braden and I to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! When we first heard it, we both started to giggle like children, it was amazing, there really is someting growing inside me. Sometimes we can't believe the Lord is actually trusting us with this precious life but I have already seen such a huge change in our marriage and friendship as we are preparing to take the next step in life that I know it is a blessing! Don't worry, pics coming soon.

pregnancy is a marvelous experience. I never had morning sickness, so I can't relate on that, but hearing the heartbeat is amazing. We cried! So happy for you guys, and we're also happy that you found someone to deliver your precious cargo that you trust.

proof that there is a reason you've been feeling so strange.

So where are you guys having this baby anyway? I heard you might have it at home?!! I'm glad that you found a good match as how much you like your midwife/Doc goes a long way in how you experience your labor and delivery... or so I've heard.

I don't think I have even said congrats yet on the baby! That is so exciting! When are you due? I am so baby hungry already, it's HORRIBLE!! Are you going to deliver at Utah Valley? CONGRATS!

LOVE the update! It seems like you waited a long time for that first appointment, and I'm glad it was all it should be. You should go to one OBGYN appt. just to see how glad you are to experience your pregnancy with a midwife. Seriously. Not that midwifery is for everyone, but when it is for you, the other pales in comparison!

I can't wait to knit for the little one...when will we know what you are having?! I need a countdown by weeks...not days! I have no idea how far along you are!

Many, many congrats!

All of your baby "firsts" are so cool. I haven't thought about being pregnant for awhile, but it's such a cool thing! Maybe we'll be able to compare pregnancy stuff sometime this year. We'll see.
