This post is late but last Wednesday my mom and I took Mason in for his 2 week checkup. I felt so bad when they pricked his heel for his PKU test but he took it like a champ, a little crying but as soon as they stop squeezing his heel he was calm and peaceful for the rest of the check up. New stats: 9 lbs 6 oz and 21 1/4 inches long. Our pediatrician was hoping that he was back to his birth weight and he surpassed that by almost a pound! We have a porker on our hands ladies and gents! Anyways, all is well, next checkup at 2 months. That app is supposed to have 6 shots :( Braden will definetely have to go with me for that one!

You just had to use the "porker" reference huh?!... you're a Hamm too you know! ;*) Sounds like a good eater. I forgot to mention below that I love all that hair he's got!
Sounds like he is gaining weight at the right speed. He loves his milk, obviously.
Amanda, don't take offense, but don't let your Doc. give him 6 shots at one appt. It isn't good for the little guys. Every doc is different, so what mines tells me & yours tells you are going to be different. My doc will not give more than 3 shots at one appt, and I like that, it is just too much for them to handle. Again, please don't be offended by me opening up my big mouth & sharing my opinion. You can do whatever you want, and whatever you think is best for your baby. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Hey! I'm so glad your little guy is doing so well. My sister gave me the best advice with the shots: give them tylenol at the beginning of the visit. This gives it time to work ahead of time and makes a huge difference! I just took Ella in for her 2 year check-up and no more shots until kindergarten. I am so grateful to have a child in a time where we have so many medical advances!
I know you better than to read that thinking that you are actually going to allow someone to shoot your child up with all that stuff at one time. I read it and it sounded like you were, but ALAS, you are more informed!
Even if a person feel inclined to vaccinate their child with every last shot, there is no reason to do so in at one time! Shouldn't scientists know that in order to isolate the effects of something you have to have a control group? If you vaccinate 6 at a time, not only do you compromise the health of your little one's system (the same one that you protected from much more minor offenses when he or she was in the womb) but you elimiate the possibility of modern science progressing their awareness of what, if any link there is between vaccinations and infant death, autism, asbergers, etc. If you do one at a time, you can definitely link that one vaccine to an outcome...it just doesn't make sense to do it at once. I have no beef with people loving themselves some vaccinations, but it rings ignorant to me that anyone would ever do 6 at one appointment.
